About PYLPC

Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club is a well established, self-supporting, independent, charitable organisation, our aims are to help and educate young people in the City of Worcester and surrounding districts and to support other charitable organisations, with the emphasis on individuals who are in some way disadvantaged.  A team of dedicated voluntary and paid staff undertake various roles and activities to further the Club’s aims.

The Club was formed in 1976, and for many years scores of young people met in an old wartime asbestos nissen hut.  However, it was envisaged that a new building could be utilised not only for the young, but also to cater for the
needs of the local community as a whole.

Your support would continue to offer innovative twice weekly Youth Clubs for 40 young people with disabilities, learning difficulties, complex health needs and challenging behaviour for 11 – 16 year olds on a Wednesday evening
and 16 – 24 year olds on a Sunday evening.

We aim to continue to provide transport to enable young people to attend the Sunday weekly Youth Club who find it difficult to attend.

The project will continue to enhance young people’s opportunities to be involved in an exciting programme of activities that will include arts & crafts, healthy cooking, sports and games, dance and drama, educational trips and workshops.  The project will continue to give them the opportunities to attend short breaks activities where they can interact and mix socially with their peers. It will continue to provide the young people with the opportunity to gain social skills and raise their self esteem through involvement in developing the project and participating in activities that will not otherwise be available to them.
